The handbook cover for RCA's first generation Ampliphase transmitter, the BTA-50G. Note the rather unfortunate printing error on the top line. Perhaps it should have read "Broadcast and Television" or "Broadcast Transmission". This was produced at a time when the vast majority of RCA's R & D effort and maufacturing capability were being invested in the mushrooming mid-50's television market, and the two year old technology that was NTSC color TV.
